Panel talks with Nate Chinen

The ‘talk’ is a recurring tradition at Mondriaan Jazz. This year Nate Chinen will host the two panel talks during the festival. Chinen is a journalist who wrote about contemporary jazz in the New York Times for quite some years. Last year he published his book Playing Changes that was critically acclaimed as a true jazz canon. In the book he focuses on the many musical movements that are present today including its artists such as Kamasi Washington, Brad Mehldau, Robert Glasper, Makaya McCraven and others. Chinen is more than acquainted with the current development and state of music and we are honored to welcome him at Mondriaan Jazz Festival 2019.
