The Dutch-German act Doppler Trio was founded at the ArtEZ Conservatory in Arnhem (NL) where three young musicians came together with a passion for modern jazz music. Daniël van der Duim (piano), Floris-Jan van den Berg (double bass) and Hendrik Eichler (drums) created their own atmospheric, narrative sound in which the story behind the music has taken a central position in their performance. Their compositions are full of unconventional ideas. For example, they use piano effects and atypical instruments such as didgeridoo and Indian percussion. Their debut album Nebula was released in March 2019, followed by a successful tour through the Netherlands and Germany. With this album they present a modern jazz sound where atmospheric layers and narrative music has been combined with Eastern rhythms. This sensational group can’t wait to make its debut at Mondriaan Jazz Festival 2019. Make sure you don’t miss out on them!
